Pazham Pori (Banana Fry)

  1. Banana (Ethapazham): 2
  2. Sugar: 3 tsp (as required)
  3. Wheat flour: 1 cup
  4. Maida: 1 tbsp
  5. Baking Powder: a pinch
  6. Turmeric Powder: ¼ tsp
  7. Salt: a pinch
  8. Water: required       
  9. Oil: for deep frying
Method of Preparation:
  • Slice bananas length wise in 1” thickness.
  • In a bowl, mix wheat flour, Maida, salt, sugar, baking powder and turmeric powder.
  • Add water to it to make a smooth, thick batter. Keep for 15 minutes.
  • Heat oil in a pan; Dip each banana slice in the batter and deep fry in oil.
  • Serve hot.
Tips: Maida or wheat flour alone can be used.
