Chembu Masala/ Cholocasia Masala

  1. Chemb/ Yam: ½ kg
  2. Tamarind Pulp: ¼ cup
  3. Turmeric Powder: ¼ tsp
  4. Chilli Powder: ½ tsp
  5. Salt: needed
  6. Oil: 2tsp
  7. Mustard Seeds: ¼ tsp
  8. Curry leaves: few
Method of Preparation
  • Clean and cut the yam.
  • Cook Yam by adding turmeric powder, chilli powder and enough water.
  • When yam gets cooked add tamarind pulp and salt. Cook till the gravy comes thick.
  • Switch off the flame.
  • Heat oil in a pan; splutter mustard seeds and curry leaf.
  • Pour this to the prepared masala.
  • Serve hot with rice.
