Parippu Vada/ Chana Dal Vada

Kadala Parippu/ Chana Daal: 1 ½  cp
Onion: 1 small
Green chilli: 2
Ginger: 1” piece
Curry leaves: few
Baking powder: ½ tsp (optional)
Salt: needed
Oil: for deep frying
Method of Preparation
Soak Kadalaprippu/ Chana Daal for atleast 2 hours.
Wash and drain well.
Grind to a coarse paste in a food processor without adding water.
Chop onion, ginger, green chilli and curry leaves. Add this to the daal mix.
Add salt and baking powder to it and mix well with hand.
Heat oil in a pan.
Wet your palms, take small balls from the mix, place in the center of your palm and flatten a bit to form a round shape.
Deep fry the vadas in oil till both sides become golden brown.
Serve hot with tea.
Tips: Should not grind daal to smooth paste.
