Plaited Bread With Jam Filling

This is my first bake of plaited bread. I baked it last week. As it was my first try the plaits has not come out expertly good. The bread was soft and came out really well. As it was jam filled my son loved it a lot but my daughter was telling that I could have stuffed something else. Soon the day after that itself I baked another plaited bread with egg filling and tried with wheat flour instead of APF. In the second bake I could make the plaits better than the first. That too turned out well. That recipe I will post within a week. Here goes the recipe.
Ingredients
Maid/ APF: 2cups
Yeast: 1tsp
Luke warm milk: 1 cup (or as needed to knead the dough)
Egg: 1
Salt: needed
Butter: ¼ cup
Sugar: 1tbsp
Egg white/ milk: for glaze
Jam (any flavor): needed
Method of Preparation
In a bowl add yeast, sugar and luke warm milk. Wait for 5-8 minutes till it rises.
In a bowl add maida, salt, butter, egg and yeast mix. Knead well, till it becomes smooth.
Place a damp cloth over it and Keep aside for 2 hours or till it double the size.
Make the dough into 2 equal portions. (If you need big size, no need to divide the dough to 2 portions)
Take one portion and roll to a rectangle shape.
Cut the sides into 1”stripes.

Apply jam in the middle length wise.
Fold the stripes as plaiting and cover the filling.
Brush the top with egg white or milk.
Preheat the oven to 2000C and bake to about 25-30 minutes at 180 Deg C or till done.
